The rise of food trucks in the Klang Valley have been very exciting for local foodies. Gone are the days when a lone food truck could be spotted at a darkened corner of Subang Jaya’s SS15, or somewhere in the Golden Triangle near KLCC. Nowadays, there are Food Truck parks.
These are spots around the Klang Valley where food trucks gather at fixed times in a week to sell their fare. These parks feature a myriad of food trucks selling western and local dishes as well as beverages. Here’s where you should head to for your food truck fix.

TAPAK Urban Street Dining, KLCC
Located just down the road from Avenue K, this spot is one of the first official food truck parks in KL. During the day, it’s a humble parking lot. At night, more than 50 trucks park here, giving diners a taste of Malaysia’s finest culinary creations. There are stalls selling gourmet burgers, pasta, Mexican food, pizza and local delights like Ayam Goreng Kunyit.
On weekends, visitors can look forward to live performances by buskers, giving you music and other forms of entertainment to speed digestion and keep you happy.

TAPAK Urban Street Dining, PJ
For you folks who don’t really fancy braving the crowds and the traffic in downtown KL, there the ‘chiller’ version of TAPAK right in your neighborhood of PJ. It’s located at the car park in front of AmCorp Mall. Although smaller than the one near KLCC, this toned down version nevertheless features more than 15 trucks with both local and western food. The outdoor dining atmosphere in relaxing PJ is something you’ll want to experience if you live nearby, or just want somewhere to hang out after shopping at AmCorp’s weekend flea market.

D’Port @ Sunway
Located at Sunway Mentari, this food truck is easily accessible for students staying nearby. The vibe is happening, yet relaxed in an area where parking is highly available. You can see this food truck park if you’re driving from Sunway heading to Damansara, as part of it is just next to the LDP. Keep checking their FB page to see which food trucks are there, as food truck operators change from week to week.

Sedap at TTDI
Al-fresco dining just outside your doorstep. That’s what Sedap is. Sedap is just a little over a year old but has gotten a lot of love from those living around TTDI. If this includes you, don’t forget to stop by on weekends for live musical performances, and to rub shoulders with your neighbors. One of the most happening trucks here is Nasi Lemak Pandan, with its fragrant nasi lemak served with sambal kerang and warm lontong for a taste of rustic Malaysia.

Putrajaya FoodTruck Hotspot
This food truck park is located right smack in the middle of all the government ministries in Putrajaya, next to the field at the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque. This picturesque spot is best visited in the early evening, as you can enjoy the breeze from the riverside next to the park before sitting down to your meal.

The Permaisuri Lake Gardens are a popular exercise and recreational spot for locals. It’s no surprise that a food truck park sprang up at one of its entrances near the Permaisuri Football Stadium.
