Portuguese Settlement in Melaka is known to have home owners living that live there, put up outrageous Christmas decorations to outdo each other. Locals and tourists are sometimes allowed by the owners to go on their front lawn to take pictures.

In most countries malls and popular streets will be decorated with plenty of Christmas decorations. In Malaysia locals look forward in seeing which mall puts up the best Christmas decorations and usually flock around there to get photos and just feel the atmosphere of Christmas.
