3. Langkawi

If you’re wondering what could possibly be more interesting on an island, apart from the beaches, then you’re wrong. The island boasts some really unique attraction sites, such as their exhilarating sky bridge, breath-taking cable car rides and legendary parks that beautifully depict the olden tales.

4. Pulau Perhentian

You don’t need to go all the way to Thailand or Maldives to enjoy the gorgeous blue waters because Perhentian brings it right to you. Located in Terengganu, the island is nestled between crystal-clear waters and lush greenery. From soaking under the sun, listening to the luscious waves, to snorkelling, and diving, Perhentian is perfect for those looking for some time away from the hustle bustle of the city.

The island provides nothing but utter tranquillity making it a rejuvenating and relaxing retreat right here in Malaysia.

5. Malacca

A state filled with culture and heritage, Malacca is one of the best places to go for a vacation. While enjoying the beautifully preserved heritage sites, don’t forget to take a ride in their river cruise (Adults: RM 15, Child: RM 12), or a walk down the famous ‘ol Jonker street and most importantly never leave without trying out the delicious chicken rice balls.

On the contrary, if you’re looking to get away from the hustle bustle of the city, and would just love to enjoy a peaceful weekend, then get on over to the Botanical Park in Ayer Keroh. Spot over 300 types of flora and fauna, and take your mind off everything else, rather just focus on the lush greenery surrounding you.

6. Port Dickson

If you’re looking to go somewhere not too far, then Port Dickson should definitely be it. Located merely a 2 ½ hours drive away, PD is most definitely a wonderful place to relax and unwind with family or all alone.

7. Gunung Mulu National Park

The gorgeous Gunung Mulu National Park is situated in Borneo, Sarawak and is home to dramatic jaw-dropping peaks and must-explore bat caves. The park was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO back in 2000 and boasts a lush rainforest, some gorgeous waterfalls, and terrains, undoubtedly makes Gunung Mulu an adventurer’s paradise.

Explore your way through bat-filled caves and chilly waterfalls to the Garden of Eden, a hidden treasure amongst high limestone cliffs.

8. Ipoh

Ipoh may be the most underrated holiday destination ever. Apart from its laid-back vibe and delicious food, the state has got a lot more to offer than you realise.
