All You Need To Know About Malaysia’s RM30 e-Tunai Rakyat Initiative
From January 15 to March 14, 2020, Malaysians will receive RM30 in their e-wallets (Boost, GrabPay and Touch ‘n Go). This is part of Malaysia’s e-Tunai Rakyat initiative. Are you eligible for the RM30 and how can you use it on Boost? Read on more to find out.
Why free RM30?
As announced during Malaysia’s Budget 2020 plans, all eligible Malaysians will be able to redeem RM 30 from their Boost, GrabPay or Touch ‘n Go accounts to promote the transition to cashless payment. This is part of the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV2030) agenda, which aims to lower barriers to access digital technology and to make the digitalisation process inclusive for all.
When should we redeem the RM30 by?
The stipulated period for the initiative is from January 15 to March 14, and the RM30 will expire on March 14.
Who is eligible for the RM 30?
Malaysian citizens above 18 and an annual income of RM100,000 are eligible as long as you have an e-wallet with Boost, GrabPay or Touch ‘n Go. If you don’t have an account, the best time to sign up is now!
How do I redeem GrabPay’s and Touch n’ Go’s e-Tunai Rakyat?
For Touch ‘n Go:

How do I redeem Boost’s e-Tunai Rakyat with ShopBack?

Thirdly, click the ‘Upgrade to Premium Wallet’ button.
Lastly, submit a picture of your NRIC or Passport and a recent selfie and wait for verification, which will take up to 48 hours.
Once you’re verified through Boost’s e-Tunai Rakyat, redeem your RM 30.
What else do I get from the Boost e-Tunai Rakyat on top of the RM30?
According to Boost CEO Mohd Khairil Abdullah, “The Boost app and e-Tunai Rakyat claims mechanism are up and running smoothly and users can use our e-wallet to claim their RM30 with no issues. We will also be offering a cash prize of up to RM8,888 as an additional reward to those who submit the claim with Boost.”

What can I redeem the RM30 with to earn cashback?

You can pay your bills with any service provider on Boost, buy vouchers to offset your purchases (Merchants include Baskin Robbins, llao llao, Boost Juices, HappyFresh, MBO Cinemas, MooCow Yogurt and more), and in addition, top up your Boost balance on your mobile. If you make an RM30 balance top-up, for instance, you’ll get it free! Scan a QR code of a participating Boost merchant, and you’ll be able to pay and deduct the amount from your RM30.
