All You Need To Know About Malaysia’s ePenjana RM50 eWallet credit
From31st July 2020 to 11.59pm on 24th September 2020, Malaysians will receive RM50 in their e-wallets (Boost, GrabPay and Touch ‘n Go). This is part of Malaysia’s ePenjana initiative. Are you eligible for the RM50 and what are the best uses for it? Read on more to find out!
eWallets will become the norm of payment in the 21st century. And in attempts to digitise payment in Malaysia, the government has begun releasing RM50 eWallet credit under the ePenjana initiative. Aimed at increasing eWallet adoption and a boost in consumer spending, the RM50 credit is given to Malaysians aged 18 years and above (as of 31 December 2020) with an annual income of less than RM100,000.
When can we redeem the RM50?
From 8am on 31st July 2020 to 11.59pm on 24th September 2020, eligible Malaysians can redeem the ePenjana credits which must be utilised by 30th September 2020.
Who is eligible for the RM 50?
Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above, with an annual income of less than RM100,000 are eligible as long as you have an e-wallet with Boost, GrabPay or Touch ‘n Go. If you don’t have an account, the best time to sign up is now!
How do I redeem ePenjana credits?
To claim the free ePenjana credits, the MySejahtera App is required which will also encourage downloads and usage of the app for COVID-19 contact tracing.

If you are downloading the MySejahtera App for the first time, you will need to enter your name (as per IC) and IC number.
If you have downloaded the My Sejahtera App previously, you are advised to double check that your personal details are accurate and up to date. You can update your personal information under Profile > Menu > My Personal Details.
Redeem your ePenjana credits via the eWallet – Boost, GrabPay or Touch ‘n Go
Supported by Boost, GrabPay and Touch ‘n Go eWallets, you may redeem the credits via one of these 3 platforms. You must verify your eWallet account by going through an electronic Know Your Customer process to verify your identity.

Once you have verified your eWallet, you will be able to redeem the ePenjana credits by clicking on the banner on the respective app’s homepage. You can proceed to apply for the RM50 ePenjana credits if all criteria are fulfilled.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the ePenjana credits will be issued to your selected eWallet within 5 days of the application. Attempts to claim the RM50 credits more than once will be rejected as it is limited to one redemption per person.
What can you use the ePenjana credits for?
Applicable for both offline and online purchases, you may use them for, example GrabCar, GrabFood, online shopping, parking, prepaid top ups and toll payment via PayDirect/RFID for Touch ‘n Go eWallet.
What else do I need to know?
- Citizenship, age and income data is verified through JPN and LHDN without sharing information to the eWallet provider, hence ensuring that your information and data is protected.
- Application for the RM50 ePenjana credit can be made between July 31 to September 24, 2020.
- It will take up to 5 days for verification and approval.
- RM50 credits must be used by September 30, 2020.
- Withdrawal or transfer of ePenjana credits is not allowed.
