Interesting New Bar Concepts in KL To Drink Your Night Away
Speakeasy bars are not the only night life concept there is in KL right now, you’ll be astounded at all the creative ways bar owners try to make their own bars different from the rest!
The Deceased, just like its name is a bar with a zombie/dead concept with a variety of interesting drinks. The bar is decorated with Asian like death related props like like skulls, creepy dim lighting, old school doors and windows. The highlight of this place is non-other than their drinks! They all have a very “extra” addition to the drink, such as the I Know What You Did Last Summer drink that consists vodka, gin and blackcurrant juice served with a chopped of prop arm, a mask and a balloon. Another interesting drink is the Petty Person Beating served with an incense stick, joss paper, a paper cutout of a despised person, and a wooden clog. Very intriguing bar concept right?

Three X Co
Taking over the previous Mr. Brooks bar, Three X Co is started up by 3 friends, look for Othrs barbershop to spot the hidden entrance to the bar. You’ll be greeted by a Muhammad Ali poster with a plastered wall with the name of the bar on it. The range of cocktails are made by Giffard West Cup 2017 winner, David Hans. We recommend trying Fairy Tales, Blushing Melon and the Chocolat Fashioned. Head by this modern and romanticized speakeasy bar for an evening with great drinks!

Kirin Bar is located in Mr.Chew’s Latino Bar, designed with very minimal white and marbled theme furniture and walls, influenced by the Japanese culture and also a pinch of Jazzy aesthetics. Serving a range of Asian rice wines and liquor and their in house “infused brews” that changes up every now and then. We recommend trying their Mr Chew’s ‘Take-Away’ G&T, made with Opihr gin, Three Cents Aegean tonic, guava slices and pink peppercorns that gives a refreshing feel with a peppery kick at the end! Enjoy two drinks for the price of one from 5 pm until 8 pm on weekdays with good company!

The Flowerpecker is one of those rare cocktail bars that open up during the day, for their customers to enjoy a couple of drinks before heading out for other activities planned for the day. The recommended favourite is the Pranic West Side, made with pranic juice, a shot of The Botanist gin and topped with soda water. The very well lit bar is very minimal and casual, trying to shy away from the fancy speakeasy bars that are out there in KL, decorated in a very cozy and homey style, just like a cafe but with a bar in it!
